The Great Debate – GH

By Dianna

Sonny Corinthos may have confessed to a shooting, albeit with claims of self defense, yet he’s still going to run.  It sounds like he’ll be running straight toward Brenda.  That is hardly the point though, or at least not the one I want to debate with you now.

The Sandbox- AMC & OLTL

sandi-eos3By Sandi Showalter

Welcome back to The Sandbox. Let’s dig in! Did we have mayhem, murder and mystery this week in the Valley and Llanview? No murder (yet!) but plenty of mayhem and mystery. Our first mystery is why Krystal told Caleb Tad was the best PI? Our second mystery, what kind of puddle jumper can travel 4000 miles from California to Tahiti? On the mayhem side weddings on both AMC and OLTL caused much angst, hand-wringing and heartbreak. In the real world, the news (rumor??) that Roger Howarth is coming home to OLTL caused mayhem among RH and TSJ fans and dueling claims that he is or isn’t coming back.

News Flash – OLTL

By Katrina Rasbold

HOWARTH.  IS.  BACK.

A couple of weeks ago, Sage said that we were on the brink of some major OLTL news and he was absolutely right.

It has been confirmed that Roger Howarth is back as Todd Manning, possibly as early as December or January.  Trevor St. John fans need not worry.  You’re not going to lose your guy.  Word is his job is secure and both actors will continue on the show.

Now THERE’s a reason to celebrate!

Are Soap Operas a Dying Breed?

By Katrina Rasbold

Hello Friends!

I hope you are all having a fantastic wind down to summer!

I have been giving a great deal of thought to this idea that has been going around the soap community for many years suggesting that our beloved genre is on the way out.  We all know that life – and particularly TV – works in cycles.  We see this clearly in the prime time shows that are offered.  We have our “cop” cycles, our “cute kid” show cycles, our “hospital” show cycles, our “oh we’re just a cuh-razy ordinary family” show cycles… One crops up and is successful and pretty soon, we have 4-5 of the same theme going on.  Now, we are in a prolific reality show cycle that seems as though it is going to go on forever.

The Great Debate – AMC

I’d rather be forty than pregnant. This is the sentiment of many women. Others, however, wait until later to have children. They may choose to wait because they want to be financially stable or focus on their career or they haven’t met the right person yet. Then there are those that thought they were done with having children, only to discover that, “Hey, I’m 45 and going to be a Mom again.” This is the situation that Angie finds herself in right now. To top it all off, in addition to the normal added risks of a pregnancy over 40, she has to worry about going blind and choosing between her sight or her child. Well at least on this soap pregnancy, a true miracle has happened, we don’t have to wonder “Who’s the daddy?”

This Week’s Specials – GH

gourmez_avatar2By The Gourmez

On this week’s specials, we have a double billing of baked goods that sound good but are nothing but lies. First, try one of Lisa’s College Daze tartlets. They’ve got a crust made from beer hops and a filling of sweet seduction swirled with psychotic tendencies. We also have Brook Lynn’s Brownies, so good you’ll swear they are just like Mama used to make, except these come spiked with a little extra something to really put you in the mood for more. Dig in, but make sure your taste buds proceed with caution.
