Every morning I get dressed and watch my soaps while I do so. At some point I do more listening than watching and I hear something that makes me stop a minute and say “that was really good.” It may be witty, it may be poignant and sometimes it just makes no sense at all. On the cocktail menu, I’ve got a pair of new drinks that I can’t decide if I like or not. The Jennifer is a simple, bubbly concoction with sweet St. Germaine elderflower liquor and a dash of Angostura bitters for depth, topped off with sparkling Prosecco. The Claire is full of bite, with Bombay Sapphire gin and pink grapefruit juice. Both are appealing at first sip, but their staying power on the menu is yet to be seen.
Let’s consider Jennifer first. She has bimbo written all over her, in bigger letters with each plunging neckline and undone button we see.

It started with the typical love/hate of most great romances: the snarky remarks, the veiled comments loaded with a sexual tension that you just knew would end with a roll in the hay. She harped on his obnoxious ego, his devil may care attitude, and his disregard of women in general. He was so quick to point out her know-it-all attitude, her judgments, and how her disdain toward his lifestyle was a cover for her underlying feelings.
