I’ll start off by saying that I’m firmly in the “Kristina’s being an irrational teenager, not a vindictive woman” camp. I think she is truly blaming herself for upsetting Keifer and bringing on the beating, in the warped way that many victims do. I don’t think she’s intentional trying to hurt Ethan. I think her mind is so twisted and unable to deal with the abuse right now that she is not firmly grasping any of the consequences of her lying, other than that it’ll stop Keifer from being angry with her, therefore putting her out of harm’s way. It took her a whole day to realize that blaming Ethan would mean Sonny would bring down his wrath, and when that connected for her, she freaked out, begging him not to kill Ethan.

AMERICAN IDOL
It’s hard to believe that it’s only been a year since the beginning of American Idol’s Season 8. Last year was incredible, hatching the already incredible career of one Adam Lambert, introducing us to the extraordinary talent of Allison Iraheta and also the laid-back stylings of singer/songwriter Kris Allen, the “dark horse” title winner. Think Kris wasn’t a bonafide winner? As of today, his “Live Like We’re Dying” is the first single by a male Idol winner to ever crack Billboard’s Top Ten. I’m an Idol dork, I know. I’ve enjoyed it for several seasons but I went a little crazy last year, didn’t miss a moment and even went to a date on their summer tour. I can’t help but watch this year, even if I have exactly no reason to believe it will be anywhere as good as last. After a prolonged audition/Hollywood two month affair, Season 9 has finally brought forth the twelve finalists and I’m looking for a reason to love it. You never know.

Came across this video today from Entertainment Tonight with General Hospital actors expounding on the “joys” of doing love scenes that I thought you’d enjoy. It’s an entertaining clip with Maurice Benard, Nancy Lee Grahn, Julie Berman, Dominic Zamprogna, Becky Herbst, and Jonathan Jackson. I can’t post the video directly, but head to ET Online to check it out!

As I just found out on Soaps.com, Adrianne Leon will be coming back to reprise the role of Brook Lynn Ashton on a recurring basis! This makes for a total of four Quartermaine characters, two new and two returning, headed to Port Charles. I guess Mr. Guza meant it when he said he realized how the lack of Quartermaines was detrimental to the show. I, for one, am very excited to welcome them all, though it looks like we may be waiting on their arrivals for a while yet.

LOSTIES!
How wonderful it is to be back with you all after three long weeks away! I am happy to report things are better in the work world (not perfect, but definitely better!) We have three episodes to review/discuss and I’ve saved the best for last because ya’ll know how much I loved RECON right? RIGHT?!

This week and last, we got the news of a wave of firings and near-firings (meaning “put on recurring status rarely to be seen”) at One Life to Live. At first, there did not seem to be a trend to the cast restructuring, but further evaluation, when they are considered as a group, leads me to pick at a disconcerting thread going through these dismissals.

This is the break down of age groups on AMC. When DC leaves, only Erica and Opal will be the matriarchs.

THE OSCARS FASHION COLUMN!!
I’m sorry for the delay in posting this column – I have had drama this week up to and including my boss being abruptly fired, my husband’s computer dying, kids getting sick in the middle of the night and the beginning of little league baseball season.

There is something I have wanted to do for years and have always postponed for one reason or another. It took the announcement that AMC will being moving to the West Coast for me to get really motivated.

I have been watching General Hospital for over 25 years now. My mom was an ABC soap fan and from 1PM – 4PM, it was the big three. GH was definitely always my favorite.
