This Week’s Specials – GH

Kelly’s Diner has upped their game and added cheese platters to the menu! To compete, we have put together a scrumptious platter of our own, the On the Verge stuffed pepper platter: Arrayed attractively near the front is the Jason Morgan, filled to the brim with regret. On the left, you’ll find the Johnny Zacchara, about to burst at the seams with anger. On the right, the Michael Corinthos smiles benignly, but there’s plenty of shock and ambition right beneath his outer shell. Don’t overlook the Ethan Lovett in the back corner; it’s near to spoiling for a fight. Which one will explode with flavor and game-changing action first?

Liz was being so clear about where her loyalties and affections lie and I was overjoyed, then she had to go and let Nik seduce her! I was so sure she made up her mind and would not pursue her forbidden attraction any longer. She was still fantasizing about him, sure, but I thought the dream sequences were clearly about her guilt: Lucky finds out and shoots Nikolas, Robin finds out and lectures them both, etc., but then she had to go and give in to the Prince.

Ugh, she has to end this and fess up now, or she’s going to make me very angry on Lucky’s behalf! I understand why she doesn’t want to tell Lucky, but Luke’s right, not doing so will only make things worse in the long run. I wish he would have given her an ultimatum, “Tell Lucky or I will,” but he hasn’t been able to work up his rediscovered concern for his son that high yet.  Maybe Lucky will pick up on Nik’s strange behavior and lack of decorum. He’s obviously trying to put a finger on Liz’s reticence, maybe he’ll put two and two together. What do you think Lucky will do when he learns the truth?

This brings me to Nik’s subtle character changes as he indulges his Cassadine roots by pursuing what he wants regardless of whom it will hurt.

What Nikolas Wants

He’s becoming my favorite character to hate. I’m still not sensing any regret, though his conscience occasionally rears his head like breaking up with Rebecca and admitting he’s been using her. But I’m not convinced that he did it for Rebecca’s benefit; I think the Prince was merely tired of putting up with her. I’m okay with where this story line is taking him. Having a “good” character morph into a “bad” one, even if only temporarily, is always intriguing to watch. Tony Jones shaving his head comes to mind.

Let me distill Lulu’s philosophy on life for you: If you donate to charity, you can kill as many people as you want!  Such a stellar, simple philosophy! Justifying Sonny’s and all the other mobsters’ continued presence out of bars does not look good on her, even though it is Port Charles’ high fashion. She should write a piece on it for Crimson, “How to Defend Your Local Mob Boss and Still Get the Guy!” Her willful naiveté rose to new levels when she asked Sonny what he would do if someone gathered evidence on him. Really, Lulu? You need to ask? This isn’t Jeopardy.

My favorite line of the week was this exchange between the Brothers Drake, when Patrick began a tale about his ex-girlfriend –

Patrick: I was out at this party that went dry . . .

Matt: Wait, you didn’t say this was going to be a sad story.

Matt certainly has his priorities in life straight. Beer!

Simple Pleasures

Simple Pleasures

Now, let us pause to consider something deeply disturbing about our patron saint, Jason the Holy Hit Man. My utter faith in his ability to do all things, to rescue any stranded woman, shoot and hit from any distance, and bring gifts of safety, meaningful blinks, and leather jackets to us all has been shaken. Please, tell me if I am mistaken, so I can go on blindly believing in his infallibility . . . did Jason make copies of the photo of Claudia’s death scene and distribute them to all his friends?

Spinelli, I need you to . . . hit up Kinko's! Twenty color copies, please. Make sure they look nice.

That just doesn’t seem like something the man, who can outsmart any police investigation by simply keeping his mouth shut, would do.  I cannot go on, thinking he would pass the image around and create more opportunities for discovery in the process is too much; it’s already given Johnny the proof he needed to let his grief and anger loose, in a fabulous performance on Thursday (Thanks, Brandon Barash!). Please, assure me that my eyes were deceived and Jason would not be so stupid, I beg of you!

Anyone want to place bets on how many more times we will hear Mad World until the very special guest star story line is over? My money’s on 20.

Don’t forget to stop by for the specials next week!

I’m with you as far as the duplicate murder photos. I had to do a double take on the photos. Where did they come from? I might understand one for Jason/Spinelli to share and a second to take to Sonny. But Dominic having one is dumb! It’s obvious the writers just want this to explode with an angry brother, and crisis everywhere.

    Sharon:

He only made ONE copy to give to Sonny. Sonny gave that copy to Dante who made lots of copies. So far he’s given one to Olivia which is where Johnny saw it but he told his mom to keep it as he had lots more of them.

I’m hoping they play Adam’s Mad World every day for the rest of the year! Love Adam Lambert!!!

    Jamie:

jason gave a copy to sonny, who in turn gave in to Dante, who in turn LEFT it at his mothers, after making more.

Thanks for clearing up the sequence of photocopying, guys! I was so upset that our Holy Hit Man pulled an idiotic move, I was close to burning my own black box of regret in protest. With your guidance, I now know that the blame rests on Sonny and Dante and my world is righted again.

I too love Adam Lambert, Sharon, but even with my dedicated fan mentality, my like for Mad World is starting to wear just a teensy bit thin. You are watching the AMAs on Sunday, right? Adam performs! I’m so addicted, it’s pathetic.

I just love the Nik/Liz storyline although I was hoping LnL2 would get back together. But I can’t deny how great Niz is. I really love them turning Nik more into a darker character. He’s a Cassadine for goodness sake. All this lovey dovey Prince stuff has got to stop. Since they are pushing back this Cassdine storyline, I think once Lucky finds out it will just amp up the Spencer/Cassadine feud even more. For not I’m enjoying it.

I hate Lulu with a passion. First Dominic was not a good person for her to be with because he was with the mob. Now that she’s knows he’s a cop, she’s doesn’t want him to take down anyone in the mob because they donate to good causes. She is annoying.
