GH Spoiler Development
By Katrina Rasbold
Talk about the shot heard ’round the world! After that ohhhhh so soapy cliffhanger on Friday’s episode, there was a roll out of spoilers that got EOS fans all kinds of an uproar! (Spoiler discussion behind the jump)
Did you see the closing scene of Friday’s GH? If not, get ready for another episode of “clink-boom” done right:
When the spoiler came out that Dante and Olivia lie to Mac and Lucky to protect Sonny, EOS readers were PISSED, and rightfully so. There is more, however, to the story.
Dante does not immediately cave to worshiping at the altar of Sonny, despite giving false information to the police when questioned. His feelings for Sonny do not particularly change after learning that they are father and son. Dante is absolutely furious at Olivia for keeping the truth from him for all of these years, but don’t expect a dewy-eyed paternal reunion. The only reason Dante does not tell Lucky the complete truth when questioned is because he knows there is already more than enough evidence to convict Sonny of Claudia’s murder.
The problem is that Dante actually believes Sonny killed Claudia and in the meanwhile, Michael is going around confessing to anyone who will listen that he killed Claudia. (Although Mac does not believe him and thinks he’s trying to take the fall for Sonny) This means, of course, that not only is the evidence implicating Sonny false, but also that the story is being set up of a man who will sacrifice all for his children. Long time viewers will remember that Sonny has extreme claustrophobia from Deke having locked him in closets when he was a child, so a prison cell is even more hell for him than the average crook (so one would imagine he might want a different job). Taking the fall for Michael is big stuff on a personal level given his fear of enclosed spaces.
Sonny struggles with the idea Jason is forcefully putting out there to leave the country, but even though he gets as far as the tarmac, he finds that he can’t leave Dante and rushes back to the hospital to explain himself to his son. They finally come face to face with each of them knowing the truth and that is this coming Friday’s big scene.
Sam steals the gun Sonny used to shoot Dante from the police station and that, along with the statements given by Olivia and Dante, make those charges go away.
The case against Sonny for killing Claudia does go to trial. As Jax’s involvement becomes more clear, the damage to his marriage to Carly is extensive and divorce proceedings are initiated. Jax continues to impact the situation by making certain a high powered prosecutor gets the case. This is, of course, a hot woman prosecutor. *sigh*
Lulu cannot forgive Sonny and she and Dante maintain a tight relationship. He did, after all, promise that if he lived through the experience, he was hers and he doesn’t look like one to go back on his word. The new dynamic of Sonny’s son dating Luke’s daughter does create some drama, however.
Olivia refuses to take the blame for Sonny shooting Dante and rightfully so. Although she regrets keeping the secret she did, Sonny was the one who pulled the trigger and went from gummy bear mobster to intended cop killer.
Johnny is there for Olivia during her ordeal, but their relationship is in serious trouble as he begins to rebuild the Zacchara organization from ruins to take down the Corinthos family. His “Jason” is none other than Ethan, who has been displaced as favorite son by the newly disenfranchised Lucky. Feeling on the outside, he finds a comfortable niche on the ground floor of Zacchara Central. Of course, there’s the added aspect of Olivia’s unexpected pregnancy…
Speaking of pregnancies, for those who are concerned about the spoiler going around that says that Lucky finds Elizabeth’s seemingly lifeless body, please be assured that the newly pregnant Rebecca Herbst is not going anywhere. ”Seemingly” is the operative word there.

Why Sam why? What happened to the Sam from 2008? Why is she stealing guns and stuff for Sonny!
I really hope Liz isn’t trying to committ suicide because of Lucky. With their history (yeah writers we didn’t forget the last 10 years!) there is no way Liz would do this over Lucky.
Johnny and Ethan. I am so for this. I love Johnny and he is part of the future of GH. It’s great that he is getting a number 2 guy.
I like Lante as long as Lulu doesn’t turn into the SHREW. I hope Lulu continues her hatred of Sonny. I hope Dante continues his hatred of Sonny and it never lets up. The man shot him for goodness sake. Glad to see he’s only lying about Sonny shooting him because he thinks he killed Claudia. Glad he isn’t doing it because he suddenly thinks Sonny is this great man.
It’s time for Olivia to go. Dante rejects her. There is NO WAY her and Sonny could ever be a couple. Sonny tried to kill her only child. It doesn’t matter that Sonny didn’t know Dante was his child or that Sonny is a mob boss, he tried to kill her child. She thought Claudia was scum for what happened to Michael so Olivia should think Sonny is scum. Solivia can never happen. It’s bad enough she is going to lie about Sonny shooting her son. She needs to go right now.

I am so glad that this secret is finally out. At first, I thought I was merely relieved that it was over, but the reveal has actually been well-written and well-played.
Giddy…with anticipation about Johnny and Ethan working together. Johnny and Luke are “kindred spirits” so it is only natural that Johnny form such a bound with Ethan. Hopefully the alignment with the Spencer family means Johnny will be around for a long time!
Not a fan of Lulu/Dante. I loved Johnny and Lulu together and they will always be my first choice for the other.
Olivia is going to be pregnant? I thought that was a rumor that was confirmed to be untrue? I thought that Becky Herbst’s pregnancy would be worked into the story- it makes sense for a pregnancy to pull Liz from her darkness and make her realize that she must fight for this child.

I cannot fathom WHY Sam would do this for Sonny, of all people. That man is the most selfish person around, did she forget how HE turned on her for Amelia? Why is her ONLY mention in this story as being an IDIOT, breaking the law once again?
I was so proud to see her away from the Mob crap, but as long as she’s around Jason, she loses the Independence that she had, and I am just no longer a fan or interested in anything she does, unless it’s about her family.
She has ABSOLUTELY no story,LIZ/LULU/OLIVIA/DANTE/CARJAX/SONNY/SCRUBS all have a story, where is Sam’sand her family?

In my opinion Liz isn’t suicidal because of what she did to Lucky. Her self-image is destroyed. Since recovering from the rape, she has been (in her eyes) the good girl that has bad things happen. She has justified every mistake in her own mind. Even the paternity issue with Jake had a ‘good intention’ justification to it. This time there’s no possible way to view what she has done in any kind of good light. And the fact that everyone knows what she did, she has no moral high-ground left. I’ve always liked Liz; I see her as a young girl adrift without parental love or a strong sense of who she really is. What she believed she is has been stripped from her – by her own actions. She is a classic suicide candidate. I give the writers credit (for once). Of course even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so it’s about time they got something right.

As for Sonny I doubt if he goes to jail its not if he gets off but how…will Michael involvement be revealed.
Sam I’m not surprised she is merely a mob cheerleader.
I’ve been an Elizabeth fan since day one and just will be glad when this stinker storyline is over. I cringed when they plopped her in yet another triangle with Nik of all people…Triangle Quad Triangle I’m sick of the same ole’ crap. I wonder how long this stinker will be dragged out.
As for a good light there can’t be one unless its written.
Its clear to me she was written with an extremely negative focus and it is a pro-male story…Nik isn’t suicidal why should she? When is he going to take the serious hit? I doubt he will. She always takes the fall in her triangles.
I don’t see her as classic suicide case at all…many who take their fall from grace can be wriiten to come out stronger however with the over the top negative writing of her in this I doubt the writers are going there.
She hasn’t gotten “anything” in this story absolutely nothing not even good dialog.

I can’t believe they have Sam stealing the gun Sonny used to shoot Dante. Why in the world would Sam do that. And don’t tell me for Jason’s sake. I am sick of it. I am sorry Sam and Jason got back together since the JaSam reunion where we were promised Jason would be pursuing Sam (okay that happened for a SMALL time) we have seen Sam become the Sam of old. Where is her independance. She is a PI for gosh sakes. You now have her risking her livelyhood to help Sonny who turned his back on her with Amelia. I am sick of seeing nothing but Sonny,Olivia,Dante and Lulu every darn day. When those guys aren’t on you have Watery eyed Lucky,Lizzy and Nic. When does Sam get a storyline (all her own) not involving the fricken Mob or Jason for that matter. HELLOOOOO she has a family could you possibly write something involving that. Where or Who is her father. ENOUGH WITH THE MOB and Michael.

I LOVE DANTE! He is my favorite character on the show! I just hope he does NOT EVER care about Sonny AND I REALLY don’t want him to join the mob and quit being a cop. I am disappointed that he is going to lie to protect that loser/father of his!!

Anyone else tired of soap opera pregnancies? It is so unrealistic for so many people to get “accidentally” pregnant. STD’s must be running rampant since they all sleep with one another eventually. Ick!

Watery eyes or Patches,,,gives me a headache.
Too bad Nik didn’t die from his tumor…

I hope they don’t make Liz pregnant – 3 babies with 3 different daddies, none of whom are the guy she is married to? Ick. Okay – I realize she isn’t married to Lucky right now, but they were engaged and it would make poor Lucky *uncle* to this child. That’s just mean.

I think the writers are going to give Liz an illness that caused her to do the things she did; like maybe a brain turmor.
I wish the writers would do an alternative reality where Dante shot Sonny in the line of duty. Olivia rushes in and tells Dante you shot your father. I would love to see the fallout this would bring from
Dante going through the emotional drama instead of Sonny.
