The Sandbox
Time got away from me this week. As soon as I can watch the rest of the episodes, I will post a new Sandbox column. It should be up later tonight or Sunday morning. In the mean time, I just want to say as an AMC & OLTL only viewer, I don’t think it’s fair that our shows are getting pre-empted for a day in August to run classic GH Brenda Barrett shows. We may have to get used to it though, since ABC has cut back each soap by 20 episodes per year. I just hope they don’t play favorites and show classics (and I mean real classics, not ones we saw a few weeks or months ago) from just GH. Stay tuned for a new column soon.

I have to say that, as a GH fan, I am completely in agreement with you!! I will not be watching the three-hour Brendafest. Just leave the regular shows on with new episodes!

I can see the Brendafest on Soapnet – that’s where it belongs! Or even if they wanted to show those epis in place of new GH in the days leading up to the big return….but I don’t like that they are replacing AMC and OLTL on those days. Will be interesting to see if the ratings show any change – good or bad – with this gambit. I will be on vacation and don’t plan on watching in any event — hopefully I’ll be at the beach that day with my hubby and kids…
This just smacks of the whole “Real Greenlee” nonsense and it makes me ill. Frons and the other IIC at ABC get hard ons for some of this players and will do anything to promote them…if I was an actor at one of those shows and I didn’t get such a buildup I’d feel like chopped liver! The “Real Greenlee” promotion backfired on them big time so we’ll see what happens with this….I think Vanessa M. is a fine actress, but I don’t get it — between ABC and the soap rags predicting her return or lack thereof on their covers for the last few years — you would think she was the greatest actress since sliced bread…ummmmmm NOT!
