The Great Deabate – GH

By Dianna

I don’t think I have ever tried to hide my dislike of soap opera babies. They tend to be used as poorly driven plot devices and they also tend to multiply to the same people over and over again, usually with all different father’s and mother’s. General Hospital likes to further throw a wrench in there as one of their favorite plot devices is sick babies, dying babies or damaged, coma ridden teens.

This Week’s Specials – GH

By Becca, the Gourmez

I love the cat fights between Brenda and Carly. Carly, of course, lives off drama, but I think Brenda finds the back and forth quite entertaining, in large part because she can barely believe someone would want to waste their breath on the issues that Carly does.

This Week’s Specials – GH

By Becca, the Gourmez

On this week’s specials menu, I’ve got a great hangover cure for those needing more motivation to get off the bottle. It’s a protein-heavy scramble of fresh duck eggs, shredded and smoked pork, goat cheese, and diced parsley, topped with a creamy tomato sauce so thick, you’d think you were eating a bloody mary. Here’s hoping it’ll help Luke kick that habit.

Lucky, Liz, and Jason keep on breaking my heart. Lucky, when telling Luke he was the one who killed Jake and then confronting him about drinking—man, he was amazing. Tony Geary’s done a great job showing Luke’s denial of his drinking and how it may affect him even if he doesn’t feel drunk.

The Great Debate – GH

By Dianna

When I was 20 my boyfriend was 10 years older than me.  My next boyfriend was 11 years older than me.  It wasn’t intentional; it just worked out that way and when the relationships failed believe me it had nothing to do with my age, but their dysfunction.  I think I look young for my age, I have been told that many times by many different people, but looking back on the pictures I don’t see a glaring age difference.  For some reason I do see it with Kristina and Ethan.  I can live with that.  The reality is Kristina looks very young where I personally think Ethan looks older than what he is.  This, however, is NOT my objection.

With my book launch coming up and family coming to town tonight for a week, I am days behind in my General Hospital viewing, and I don’t expect to catch up until April! So keep in mind while you’re reading this column that the last episode I saw was when Jake was declared brain dead. Feel free to discuss this week’s episodes in the comments, though! But I’ll get to the story lines in a minute. First, up, casting changes! Tyler Christopher and Adrienne Leon are out!

This Week’s Specials – GH

By Becca, the Gourmez

Such joy I felt at Sonny and Brenda’s wedding as I realized how much more likeable he’s been since his focus has been on family and love rather than mob business. How quickly that joy evaporated as Sonny devolved back into his revengeful, kingpin role. It was actually pretty funny listening to him rant about how this was all about the Balkan trying to target him—Theo didn’t even know Sonny existed until Brenda stepped foot in Port Charles again. But once Brenda awakened and Sonny became the husband again, his dimples out in full force, I found him rather charming yet again. To sum up, mobster life just doesn’t suit Sonny anymore, in this fan’s opinion.
