EOS Staff List

Who are the eyes that are turned toward soaps and other things? We here at Eye On Soaps are blessed with a dedicated and talented staff of contributors who are instrumental in the success of the site. It is the hard work of these people that distinguishes EOS from the rest.

MAXINE BENNETT: “Each Day a New Beginning” off topic columnist.

Maxine gets to cuddle Steve Burton and Maurice Benard a whole lot more than any of us do and for that reason alone, we all want to get as close to her as we can so that we can maybe catch a little drop of their sweat or something here and there. You’ll see Maxine working hard at these guys’ events, plus many others. Maxine is a mom and a grandmom and we all love her because she is just that precious. She gives the best hugs in the whole wide world and I am honored that she is my friend and the only thing that we can find that is wrong with her is that we just can’t seem to spend enough TIME with her!

sagenewSAGE BOURLAND: Sage contributes our AMC, OLTL & GH gossip column each week, “Sage’s Weekly Dish.”  Sage has his own website (www.sagesplace.com) with an expanded version of this column, plus his own spoilers with commentary for each show (and much more!) at www.sagesplace.com.   He has a wife, Zoe and a daughter, Cait.

KATE BROWN: “AMC Spoilers With Commentary” for AMC and “A Cynic Soaps Up” columnist.

Kate Roach Brown is a life-long fan of ABC soaps and has been with Eye on Soaps since its birth in 2000. She is married to a fabulous businessman who carries her around on a little pillow and treats her like the treasure that she is. She is a professional editor and journalist and is just exactly as you’d think she is when you read her writing. She has a rich and sultry past that is peppered with rock stars and roadies and wholly enviable celebrity encounters. You want to be her, we know, but *sigh* you can’t, so just keep encouraging her to write that book so we can all live vicariously through her.

dianna3DIANNA:  ”GH Spoiler Commentary” columnist.

Ever been chased by a squirrel?  I have.  For some reason they think I have food or am the food and here in NY squirrels have no fear.  They have this odd sort of napolean complex where the think they are bigger than me.  They are so good at it I believe them.   So when you see that girl running for her life through the park…that’s me.  And I am totally being chased by a squirrel not a pit bull or an axe mureder.  True story.

THE GOURMEZ: “The Gourmez” columnist for GH.

The Gourmez enjoys fine wine, fine food and fine soaps, but she still watches ABC soaps anyway. (haha) Jusst kidding. She has a fabulous website where you can read more of her work, but her real talent comes through in the insightful analysis of GH in her column on EOS. With her knowledge of food, cocktails and soap operas, we figure that makes her just about the most perfect friend anyone could have, so we are all wrestling for the rights to move in with her and force her to haul us around with her to all of these restaurants to try out the goods with her. We aren’t figuring her husband will mind much since he’d get to squire around all of these good looking women, not that HIS vote is more of a gratuity anyways.

khardeKATHY HARDEMAN: “TwitterBuzz” columnist for AMC, GH & OLTL.

Kathy lives in a small town about 25 miles outside of Houston, Texas with her husband, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, a Great Dane, a cat and two fish. She considers herself a stay at home mom and a writer who happens to have a part time job driving a school bus. In a perfect world, she would live on a mountain, write, hike, ride horses, read, ride motorcycles, garden, listen to music, study Tae Kwon Do and only come down when cravings for junk food demanded satisfaction. You may see her rollerblading across Texas with Alex, the Great Dane panting and struggling to keep up with her. You know that thing that everyone does now where you use your peace sign fingers to point at your eyes, then at your victim, then back at your eyes again, then back at them again to say, “I’ve got my eyes on you, buster?” She invented that. I swear. It’s true. Oh and don’t call her “Mimi.”

KATRINA RASBOLD: Site owner & webmaster, graphic artist, “Katrina: Queen of It All,” (an off topic journal), and “OLTL Spoiler Commentaryl” columnist.

All around fire putter outer, chief cook and bottle washer. Katrina retired after 20 years in the “official” work force and is now a mom, telephone psychic, website designer and writer who lives on a mountain in Grizzly Flats, California. She enjoys movies, reading and journaling. Katrina started Eye on Soaps in July of 2000. She has six children, three who are adults and three who are still at home. She also has three grandchildren and a husband who carries her around on a little satin pillow and feeds her chocolates all day.

victoriaVictoria Russell: LOST analyst, expert, recapper and commentator.

Victoria lives in Southern California and was one of the original EOS writers all those years ago.  She is a long time friend of the site and is dearly loved by all of us.  She is a major fan of Ingo Rademacher and Josh Holloway.

Sandi Showalter: “The Sandbox” columnist for AMC & OLTL

Sandi Showalter, a world renowned author, has people counting the days until they can read her words. OK, that’s Sandi’s fantasy. Sandi really spends her work week as a test administrator at a high school, while dreaming of the time she can leave the regular rat-race to pursue freelance writing full time. Introduced to AMC in 1977 by her grandmother, she also picked up the OLTL & GH habit in the mid 80’s, when the VCR made soap watching possible through the magic of time shifting and commercial zapping. She gave up GH in 2000, but still enjoys AMC & OLTL (most days.) In addition to soaps and writing, Sandi is an avid reader and an admitted TV addict. Her husband, Chris and teenage daughter, Brynn, often question her sanity for her continued devotion to her “stories.”
