Letters..I get letters..

Howdy boys and girls!  Wanted to give shout out to some of my loyal readers this time around.  It's so nice to know that I really am NOT alone when it comes to my feelings about certain characters on certain soaps.

I've had to just start watching the show on mute, it's become so redundant and plain ol' boring and stupid.  This, coming from a fan who's watched since 1979. 

(YOU'RE NOT ALONE IN THIS, ANNE!  MANY LONG TERM FANS HAVE FELT THE COLD, HARD SLAP OF  DISDAIN OR INDIFFERENCE FROM TPTB!) 

I don't know what the writers are thinking, or why they only put forth any effort into writing anything remotely interesting come sweeps time.  What about the FANS who actually WATCH the show, versus the sponsors - why can't we get anything worth watching the 2 or 3 months in between sweeps? 

(EXCELLENT QUESTION.  ANYONE CARE TO TAKE A STAB AT ANSWERING THAT?  ANYONE?  ANYONE?  BUELLER?!) 

Ugh.  I think I might be to the point of simply watching those 4 months out of the year, and reading columns like yours all the time in between.  At least THEN I'd be entertained.  Thanks!

NO, NO, NO, ANNE,. THANK YOU!   YOU GIVE ME FAR TOO MUCH CREDIT. (BUT I'LL TAKE WHAT I CAN GET ANYWAY!)  I HATE TO SAY IT, BUT IT SURE LOOKS LIKE MORE AND MORE FANS ARE STARTING TO FEEL THE SAME WAY, IF THEY HAVEN'T ALREADY BEEN FEELING THAT WAY FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW.

IMO, it's much too late for them (the Careys) to be seen or written as heroic or even sympathetic in any way - I absolutely LOATHE them & how they've hijacked my show!

Adam & Stuart & their portrayer, David Canary, are my heroes - I love that man, or men, or.....(see, I can hardly  distinguish among them :) - that's the genius of DC!  Thurs's (May 3) show, where Adam called Tad (who was once a hero of mine also - what happened to him as a character?) on his past behaviour as a baby-hider and/or -stealer and/or -kidnapper had me almost cheering!  Why, oh why, is Adam being vilified here?  I'm baffled....:(    

(TRUST ME, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE!   IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO SEE ONE OF THE MARTINS CALLED ON THEIR HYPOCRISY - NOT THAT IT LASTS, MIND YOU.  I USED TO ADORE TAD, AS WELL, BUT THEY HAVE TAKEN WHAT USED TO BE A PRETTY COMPLEX MAN AND TURNED HIM INTO SOMETHING UNRECOGNIZABLE.  WHY?  I SUSPECT HE'S FALLEN VICTIM TO THE SAME CALLOUS DISREGARD FOR VET'S THAT ADAM HAS, AND BROOKE, MARION,  JOE/RUTH, JACK AND.(DO I REALLY NEED TO GO ON?)

I couldn't care less about Di or Del or Julia or Annie or Hannah or Ava or nu-Greenlee; does anybody?  Thanks again...

IF THEY PLAN TO DO ANYTHING WITH DI, THEY'D BETTER GET CRACKING.   IF THEY WANT HER TO BE THE CHAMPION FOR "AVA" THEY BETTER ACTUALLY SHOW HER INTERACTING WITH AVA.  FOR THAT MATTER, WOULDN'T SHE FIT IN MORE AT BROOKE'S SHELTER OR THE MIRANDA CENTER THAN SHE WOULD AT FUSION?  I THINK SO.  AS FOR DEL?  THEY'VE COMPLETELY WASTED ANY POTENTIAL THAT EVER EXISTED FOR HIS CHARACTER.  TIME TO VOTE HIM OFF THE ISLAND.  THEY FUMBLED THE BALL COMPLETELY WITH JULIA FROM THE MOMENT SHE APPEARED BACK ON OUR SCREENS.  PUTTING HER WITH JAMIE WAS JUST..  UGH!  *full body shudder*  HANNAH?  NOT FEELING THE LURVE.  AS FOR AVA, I THINK THEY ARE COMPLETELY BUNGLING THE WEALTH OF POTENTIAL THERE.  (NO BIG SURPRISE, IS IT?)  I'M RESERVING JUDGEMENT ON NU-GREENS UNTIL I SEE SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE SUSBSTANTIAL OUT OF HER.  I DON'T HOLD OUT A LOT OF HOPE, THOUGH.  AND ANNIE?  I LOVED KENDALL'S NICKNAME FOR HER: "POLLY-ANNIE" BUT SHE'S NOT QUITE AS OPTIMISTIC AS POLLYANNA WAS, SO I'M GONNA STICK WITH "MILQUETOAST-ANNIE".  SHE'S JUST SO.. I couldn't agree more that the Craig storyline is the stupidest they have ever come up with.

Yesterday I came home to discover my cable had gone out and I had 60 minutes of snow instead of GH and I was relieved.   I hate every storyline currently airing.  Let's hope it gets better.

NOW THAT? SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT THE SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS WITH OUR BELOVED SOAPS, DOESN'T IT?  THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED TO COME HOME AND FIND THAT ONE (OR ALL) OF MY SOAPS DIDN'T RECORD.  USED TO BE THERE WAS A TIME WHEN YOU MISSED SO MUCH IF YOU MISSED EVEN ONE DAY.  SADLY?  NOT SO MUCH ANYMORE.  *Sigh*

AMC--- There's so much hypocrisy in the Valley.  Not one of them is above reproach (even Dr. Joe who had an affair on Ruth), yet they're so self-righteous and judgmental.

Yet Dr. Dave was treated like dirt under everyone's feet, even his own daughter's feet (the kidnapper's feet)...whose feet were dirtier than his ever dreamed of being  (now I'm dreaming of Dr. Dave's feet).

GH--- How dumb of Robin not to squeal to the authorities  (or even Luke, for example, or Sonny) to help Nicholas.  It's so totally absurd. 

(YES!!! I'D LIKE TO SEE A SHOW OF HANDS PLEASE?  HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE SCREAMING AT THE TV ~ WHEN ROBIN MENTIONED HOW PATRICK MADE A HORRIBLE SPY ~ FOR HER TO REMEMBER THAT SHE HAS NOT ONE BUT TWO PARENTS WHO ARE SUPER SPIES AND COULD COME IN QUITE HANDY IN A SITUATION SUCH AS THIS?!   OR THAT HER UNCLE IS THE FREAKING POLICE COMMISSIONER, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!)

GH is really unwatchable anymore.  I gave up watching it on Saturday nights during the hostage crisis that wouldn't go away.  I was sick of Manny Ruiz torturing people, then they brought Craig in to torture people.  Just when you thought it was over, they brought him back in.

Now I just watch (sort of) while walking on my treadmill...

Sam's stupidity...UNBELIEVABLE!!! She knows that she's a felon, so she takes on a national TV show?  C'mon...give me a break! Nonsense!

(NOT ONLY THAT, BUT. REALLY!  SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE SO STREET SMART?  SHE IS FINALLY CATCHING A CLUE ABOUT ELIZABETH ~ ALBEIT A VERY WEAK ONE ~ BUT SHE ISN'T THE LEAST BIT SUSPICIOUS ABOUT HER PAST COMING BACK TO HAUNT HER LIKE THIS?  SHE HASN'T CAUGHT ON TO AMELIA YET?  IT'S NOT LIKE AMELIA IS BEING OVERLY CAREFUL, EITHER.  SHE CARRIES THOSE FLIPPIN' OLD PICS OF SAM AROUND LIKE SOME KIND OF PORTABLE SHRINE, HOW LONG IS IT GONNA BE UNTIL TWO DOZEN DENIZENS OF PC HAVE SEEN THEM EXCEPT FOR SAM?  NOT TO MENTION THE MANIACAL LOOK IN AMELIA'S EYES.)
